Teleferico and Virgen de la Carrill
When we woke up it was a little bit cloudy but by the time we had breakfast the clouds had lifted from the Teleferico so we seized our opportunity and headed up the volcano in a very steep cable car before the clouds came back.
It was a pretty great experience and the views were breathtaking. There was a man up there playing traditional music with flutes so we bought two CDs and I bought flute thingy. He tried to rip me off by giving me a counterfeit five dollar bill for change..... I spotted it right away and made him give me another, and he made it sound like he didn't realize what he had done...
Yeah yeah......
I was quite proud of myself for being able to spot it as it was the first one I had seen.
They had a Photoshop stand thing where you could pose for a funny picture so we did a pose where I was a ninja, kicking her out of the cable car!!!
The picture turned out absolutely amazingly hilarious!!! What a good sport she is!
After catching the cable car back to the bottom we walked downhill to the main road where we could catch a public bus. Later on we realized it was not the smartest decision as our legs got quite sore. It did only take two public buses to get us to the other lookout in the city, the Virgen de la Panecillo, the same one I had visited when I first came to Quito to meet mom at the airport. We stayed up there until the next public bus came, went back to the old town and back to our hotel. We decided to go and book a Cotopaxi tour and headed to the new town where are the tour agencies were. We found a place, booked a day tour for the next morning and crossed our fingers hoping the weather would be good. Nearby was Foch plaza where we had a burger and some delicious craft beers.
