Moms flights delayed....

Mom flight from Winnipeg was delayed three or four hours so she missed her connecting flight in Minneapolis and Atlanta. Delta put her up in a hotel for the night and we prayed for great weather the next morning and she would arrive into Quito the exact same time just a day later. So this meant I had the day to myself in Quito so I decided to visit the statue "La Virgen El Panecillo".
I read in my travel guide that said never climb the stairs up to the statue, so obviously, I climbed the stairs up to the statue! The only problem I had on the way up was an angry dog so I just went around him....
The statue is up on top of a hill in the middle of the city with great views, well I was there I saw the public bus come up so I knew my mom and I could take it when she arrived. I stayed up there for an hour or so and on my way down I walked past some kids playing soccer and they yelled "gringo gringo"!!! So I went over and we played soccer for an hour or so with a beautiful view over the city, well beautiful for me....normal for them! Afterwards I walked back down the stairs back to the hotel. Later that night I went to for dinner at "La Ronda" and had a really good plate of steak, special potatoes "llapingachos" salad avocado and a fried egg that I knew my mom would love when she got here.
