Jono's Travels
Another relaxing day today in Mykonos, which is a good thing as a few people are suffering from last night. One of which couldn't find the door in the morning to get out, he kept on walking into the wall trying to find the door, I told him he would have to turn around and try the other wall, which had the door on it. I'm allowed my technology back now, so I spent some of the morning typing my blog entries up for the remaining days that I hadn't yet put into my phone. I was actually allowed my tech yesterday, but it just took a while to type some of them up. After that I took a nap for a little while as I was still pretty tired from the previous night and I've started to come down with something. After that I went to meet the others by the pool, where we were suppose to meet at 12pm and then go hire some bikes for the day and cruise around the island, instead the others decided to relax by the pool all day, while Damien and Lieu were going to head into town, so Fabian and I tagged along. We bused into town which was about a 10 minute ride. It was amazing seeing how well these driver managed to take these big busses though there tiny little streets while still having just enough room to allow people though at some points. We walked around some of streets stopping in at some of the shops so the guys could try and find some magnets, where as I wanted to find a pharmacy so I could get some multivitamins. We got some lunch which was a yiro, essentially a small version of what I call a souvlaki but with chips in it too, very tasty and enough to fill the gap in my stomach. We continued to walk around along the at finding another shop which contained sunscreen, turns out that this place dos the same one I brought yesterday for 24 euros from the accommodation for just 16 euros for an even more powerful one. Fabian decided to top up and get one. We continued to walk around and walked down to the beach before continuing on to find the windmills that Lou saw on the way in on the bus. Nothing too impressive about the windmills, apart from them looking nice all lined up in a row, by this stage the sun was beating down on us pretty hard, so we made our way back to the bus stop where we waited for about 30 minutes for the bus to arrive, this gave Lieu a good chance to eat a couple of her favourite ice creams she found on the trip, they look like a watermelon, and apparently taste like one too. After catching the bus back, a group of us took a dip in the clear ocean water and swam out to some rocks in the bay. The water was just deep enough in one spot where we could dive in, while Sabrina wasn't with us we decided we would dive off, she was out there earlier with Sharie and talked Sharie out of doing it then, joking of course, she just wants us to be safe and "make good choices" as she doesn't want us to get hurt and ruin our trip. As Sharie dived in she lost her sun glasses, thankfully the water was that clear that I was able to swim down and search the bottom for them quiet easily. We then headed back up to the deck chairs by the pool and relaxed in the sun until it was dinner time. Pizza tonight, cooked in a brick oven, while I was expecting just a few pieces, it turns out that we all got a full pizza, it was very well made, plenty of cheese, good meat too. By this stage I was feeling pretty well much down for the day, but I had one last thing I wanted to do before heading to bed, I wanted to walk around the bay to the far side and see what there was there to look at from that side. I headed out there with Tim and apart from the sand flies, it was a nice walk out there, I got to the far end and stood on the edge of about an 8 meter cliff, it was pretty cool looking down and seeing the water hitting against the cliff. I got a bit worried when Tim went up there as he was just wearing jandals and while I'm confident about my balance, I'm not so comfortable about other peoples. Back to the room and off to bed for me.
