Hello Everyone,
We checked into our hotel in Udaipur which is the nicest so far they seem to be getting better as we go along although some of the girls found a mouse in their room today.....not good!!The weather is also getting warmer as we go along.
Our first full day in Udaipur we just went for a walk around the city and got our bearings, didn't get off to a great start for Shay as a bird decided to poop on her, she did not find this amusing in the slightest......Jonny was ever so helpful with his hysterical laughing, lol.
After the bird incident we just took a stroll, Udaipur seemed nice, less busy than the other cities and slightly cleaner.Jonny still wasn't feeling right so we just went back to the hotel to chill out so he was feeling ok for night time.
We went to see an Indian show at night that had dancing and music, it was really good to see (well some of the acts) there were ladies dancing with pots of fire on their heads and one lady put 10 massive bowls on her head, danced about then walked over glass....it was amazing, there balance was unbelievable, there are some photos to be put up of this.
After the show we headed out for some tea with the group, Jonny was obviously feeling better as the beer was flowing nicely haha.We decided to leave Jonny and the two Americans from our group drinking beer as we were all pretty shattered, he came home 7 beers later and rather yappy lol.So it was a good first day.
Our second day (Tuesday) Jonny woke up and still not feeling right, we are getting the chemist today for some re-hydration tablets and that will do the trick J so Shay went on what was supposed to be a leisurely bike ride on a fairly flat road.....well 1.5hrs later and nearly having a heart attack we reached "tiger lake" as soon as we saw the view it was all worth it, it was amazing. So many mountains and it was so quiet and peaceful, Binu our leader then told us that there are still many Leopards in the area.....nice to know, when you are standing in the heart of the mountains haha.
Our cycle back was a lot easier, we got to take the easy route.....thank god.We then went out for a nice Indian lunch, the place was so good, they gave you a massive plate with lots of little dishes and filled them up with loads of different curries and lentils and gave you rice, chapatti's and poppadums it was all you can eat as well so we were stuffed. The pudding had to be the best part it was called "Gulab Jamun" a sort of small doughnut, but it was soooo good.We had one each on our plate and asked for another 5 each....haha.Our lunch came to £1.20, bargain!!
We have found an off-licence around the corner that sells more than just beer, which pleases Shay so we are stopping there before tea tonight and then having some drinks on the roof terrance, should be a good night.
Our stay in Udaipur has been really good, we leave tomorrow for Mount Abu where there is no internet, signal or shops....only there for one night though then off to Mumbai.......will keep you updated.
