Hello everyone!!
Well we have now arrived in Pushkar, after a 4 hour bus journey on a very uncomfortable bus and Shay wasn't feeling too great so it wasn't the best journey we have had so far.
Pushkar is the holy town where you are not allowed meat, alcohol or eggs. Its a lot quieter here compared to everywhere else we have been, barely any traffic so we are getting a break from the constant horn blowing noise which is bliss.
Our first day here started with a walk around the town, there are not roads as such, just dirt tracks. We walked through the markets and shops which was nice and then onwards to the Pushkar holy lake where we got blessed and now we should have good karma....apparently.Jonny didn't think too much of this blessing haha, but it was a good experience.
Shay still wasn't feeling to great so we headed back to the hotel and had a nice chilled night.
Our second day in Pushkar Shay felt a lot better but now Jonny had picked up something and wasn't great, we just had a nice walk through the town again where Shay picked up a LonleyPlant Guide Book for South East Asia, which was the highlight of her day haha, on our way back to the hotel we got offered "kingfishers" which is the local beer at a few stalls......so much for being a holy town and no alcohol haha.
We just chilled out the rest of the day and night, so not much to tell really.
The following day we had an 8 hour bus journey to Udaipur which was only 280km so you can imagine the state of the roads that it takes this long to travel such short distance!! Anyway our bus was a sleeper type and spacious seats so it seemed like it was going to be ok until it became packed with locals and every time the driver used his horn it was a little tune which soon became very annoying. We stopped after a couple of hours to stretch our legs and unfortunately Shay needed the toilet and she described it as "the worst experience of her life" so say no more.
We eventually arrived in Udaipur at around 9pm, first impressions seemed good but it was dark and Jonny was starting to feel slightly better so it was looking good.
Hopefully more to tell with the update from Udaipur, we are here for 3 days and there seems lots to do J
