Namastae from South India
We left Goa and heading off to Kochi, our first stop on our next tour, we were under the impression that it was a 2 hour flight maximum so planned to spend the day in Kochi sightseeing......pity this never happend. We had our worst day of travelling so far, it went a bit like this......
1.5 hour taxi journey to airport.....flight delayed by 1.5hrs.....found out our flight wasnt direct to Kochi......first flight took 1 hour.....stopped at the airport for 45 minutes......second flight took 1 hour.....taxi to our hotel in Kochi.......1.5hrs so in total we spent 10 hours travelling a very very short distance, we were not in the best mood when we arrived, it didnt help that it was 10pm and we hadnt eaten since breakfast, we thought it couldnt get much worse after the day we had.
Then checked into our hotel.....worst hotel yet!! Our room was literally crawling with ants, after killing about 30 Shay was raging and went to complain, we got switched rooms, it looked all ok so we went out for a bite to eat, it was 10.30pm and we had to be up at 7am so just wanted a nice quick meal, we found a close resteraunt and had the worst meal with the worst service....Kochi was not turning out to be great. We got back to our new room to find.....more ants, both of us almost at breaking point asked to switch rooms again and finally got to bed.
Our day that was supposed to be spent seeing Kochi didnt turn out to be our best day so far. We have met our new group leader named Muthu though and he seems really nice.
The following morning we met another 4 girls that joined our group, another American, Australian, British and one Swiss, they all seem really nice. We then got taken to see the Chinese fishing nets in Kochi, they were really good to see, we got to see one in action, but it didnt seem to catch too many fish....lol. Then went on to see the Dutch Palace and a Jewish Synagog....they were both good to see but nothing compared to some of the other temples and palaces we have seen.
Our next stop is Allepey......which is just a short 1.5hour bus ride away, really looking forward to this, hopefully the journey goes slightly better!!
