We left Varkala early morning and headed to the train station to make our way to Trivandrum, we said our goodbyes to what was left of the group, which was quite sad to see it come to an end as we had spent over 3 weeks with some of the people and made pretty good friends, hopefully see them again in the future.
A transfer had been booked for us to be picked up at Trivandrum train station and taken to Kovalum (a nice local beach resort) after 5 phonecalls we finally met our driver and we were on our way.
On arriving inKovalum it seemed really nice, not too busy.We needed to find a hotel so Shay spotted a place she read about and was supposed to be a decent price so we went and asked but they were full, a guy pretty much dragged us into his hotel saying "good price, good price" so we took a look and managed to get him down to 700 a night (£9) so we were happy.Only to find later that the tv didnt work and there was so such thing as hot water, cant really complain at that price though.
We had 2 days in Kovalum and to be honest nothing much happened, we lounged around the beach both days, took walks along the markets and met with the Australian girl Sophie for tea every night, Kovalum is a really small place so we were ready to leave after the two days, pretty much seen all the resteraunts they had to offer. The highlight of our two days here was we got to buy Michael Buble tickets for Hong Kong, super excited :)
On the 16th we got a taxi to the airport to head off to our 2nd destination of our world tour......Sri Lanka :)
Our overall thoughts of our 3 and half weeks in India are: We are really glad we have done it for the experience and the things we have seen really dont compare to anything we have seen before, but we dont think its a place we will be returning to anytime soon.A tour was definatly the right option as well, no way we would have been able to do the travelling ourselves, especially in Rajasthan. We have met some really nice people from our group and will definatly be keeping in touch with them.
India......DONE :)
