We got into Memphis late last night but unfortunately our bags decided to stay in Houston! Oh well, that means we'll do some shopping courtesy of United Airlines! At least our hotel was expecting us and the bed was comfortable!
At breakfast we discovered a few people here already who are going on the same cruise as us. We got talking and decided to join a half day city tour which took in the Peabody Ducks, the hotel where Martin Luther King was shot, a drive past the Gibson Guitar Factory and Graceland and a stop in Beale St. Our hotel is on the trolley line and only a few blocks from Beale St.
At dinner time and after a long time in the queue for the cruise, we headed down to Beale St on the trolley. We walked down Beale St, in light rain, and had dinner at Rum Boogie Cafe while listening to a blues duet of 2 guys. The music was good and so were the ribs we shared for dinner - $25 for a full rack with fries and coleslaw. Once back at the hotel we listened to the thunder and watched the rain envelop the city.
