Yesterday we drove from Santa Fe north to Colorado to stay at Durango. Sadly we were later getting into town than we thought so we didn't have time to look around. We did stop at Walmart and stock up on supplies and buy our dinner - chicken and salad to have in our room followed by yoghurt and fresh fruit - you can only eat out for so many days in a row!
Today we drove to Mesa Verde National Park and were amazed by the cliff top dwellings built by the early Pueblo people. We did a guided tour of the Cliff Palace and stopped to look at Spruce Tree House before exiting the park and continuing west to Bluff which will be our stop for tonight. I must say that Bluff is a pleasant surprise after some of the land we drove through to get here - again very dry, flat lands with nothing or rough rocky peaks around us. Tomorrow our destination is Monument Valley.
