Have now entered Hungary. First shop we saw was Tesco's and first restaurant was McDonalds! Landscape very flat for first 50 miles. Passed lots of disused factories, chemical works and cement works. Stopped at Esztergom for a break (the old capital of Hungary), and saw the basilica and old gov buildings. Scenery got much nicer as we headed east. Crossed the Danube by ferry (a barge pushed by a tug), and now staying in Vac - a very nice little town just north of Budapest.
