What a difference nice roads make. When you can concentrate on taking a corner without coming face to face with a lorry overtaking a donkey cart and with nowhere to go because of potholes. Big day of biking yesterday covering 230 miles plus. Were now within 130 miles of the coast and looking forward to seeing some of the monasteries on top of rocks today.

Spectacular storm this evening. Lots of thunder and lightning. Shame we left our motorcycle clothes on the balcony!

Back in Europe now. 230 milea today. Immediately noticed a difference between Greece and the previous 3 countries (Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey). The roads are much better (no pot hole spotting required), no more horse and carts, everything is a bit neater and tidier, the petrol is very expensive (€1.89/litre), and you need to pay in cash everywhere. Decided to find a nice Greek village next to the sea to stay at. Unfortunately it is already out of season....
