Arrived in France at 6.45 this morning, and headed into Caen with Chris for breakfast - had forgotten that we'd be cycling in the dark. Meanwhile Paula headed off to Le Havre to pick up Abi and Peter, and met us in Thury Harcourt for an early lunch so that we could all do the rest of the cycle to Pont D'Ouilly. The total trip from the ferry port was 70km. The route started off flat but gradually got hillier and hillier! Found some good off-road tracks, plus a section along a (hopefully disused) railway line (track still in place). Given the bad weather forecast we have been lucky to escape with only an hour of heavy rain.
As always, Paula has found an excellent house for us, right next to the river.
