I got early, trying not to disturb James and in the excitement I forgot the camera but never mind I will remember it and it is an easy picture to paint! Jacks Dad took me outside to the garden furniture where a kookaburra was already waiting, another swooped down to the floor, just keeping his distance. The bird on the chair waited patintly until I had a piece of quiche (only thing in the fridge!) in my hand. Jacks dad showed me how to feed him, slowly but you must get close to him so he doesn't have to reach and he snapped the food from my hand! He slammed it not the chair, presumably to kill the quiche and ate it! It was so nice and we stayed outside feeding the not so brave ones from a distance!
We had to leave Oberon and Hannah and jack otherwise we feared we would've stayed there for the rest of the time! It was great to catch up with Hannah and to meet jack. I'm sure we'll meet up with them both somewhere on our travels again.
We drove back to Sydney and went into the city for the last time. We went to the botanical gardens as I wanted to see the elusive bats Mum had told me about. After exploring for a whole I asked the information where were the bats. They had been relocated about a year ago! The trip was not in vain we enjoyed the last of the sunshine and saw the lights of Sydney once more.
We had a great steak dinner for only $10 in darling harbour, recommended by Amanda and then headed back to Stanmore to sleep in Monica in a residential area, hopefully for the last time!
