Layla has started playing netball this month. It is an all-girl sport similar to handball and basketball. She has had to two games and about 4 practices. Her first game was a bit tough because she had to ride the bench for the first half and her nails were too long but the last game, this weekend was much better. We drove on the next day to Port Lincoln and checked out the fishing boats and had a bite to eat along the foreshore. It is a beautiful town. We then drove north again to Cowell where we stayed the night at a caravan park with a pool!! Layla was elated. We had to stay in Cowell so we could catch the ferry from Lucky Bay to Wallaroo the next day and get home to see how our chooks fared without us. We drove North from Baird Bay on our way to Streaky Bay and stopped at Point Westall to see some of the most amazing beaches and scenery I've ever seen. We also got to see some surfers out in the ocean along the Great Australian Bight (shark waters!!) We left on Easter Sunday to drive all the way across the Eyre Peninsula to Baird Bay where we would meet up with Jane, Bailey, Paul Wetherall and Adam (their 'adopted' son) for our swim with dolphins and sea lions. Saturday, April 12: We left Chance's house in Adelaide at 6:00 am and drove just over 2 hours to get to Port Jervis to get the 9:00 Ferry to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island (KI). We stopped for Macca's on the way and just before Port Jervis, Layla threw up her hotcakes and hashbrown within 20 minutes and was good to go! We got to the ferry at 8:10 and lined up to get on.
