Today was going to be a scathing review of the walk, the town and the accomodation but have found myself softening when I heard about the reality of the life of some people here. However the walking was dull through a lot of industrial estates and only one good section through a pine and eucalyptus forrest. So it meant we arrived early in this small town where ther is little to see or do. Our hotel is almost scary in its old and primitive feel. The bed is definitely older than me., but not in a nice antique way. Weather very grey and no other pilgrims around to talk to. So an early evening dinner. The pic is with Vidal our host and Roger in thei restuarant. It's been a family business as a warehouse and wine store built up by his grandfather . But now none of his children want to take over and it's obviously got very run down. It seems taxes are crippling for small businesses and there's corruption. so in the spirit of the Camino we try and put ourselves in his place and wish hiim well and try not to rush to judgement.....except for the bed and the rather dodgy shower. So we are hoping for a better day tomorrow and no bedbugs. Urghhhhh.
