Two days out of Siena and the scenery is just getting better. Roger describes it as unending Cotswolds, but I don't recall as many vineyards around Chipping Campden. It's Montepuliciano country and the harvest is in. In fact the vines are just beginning to change colour and lose their leaves. The fields are all ploughed and we've had real autumn mists first thing in the morning, not clearing until after 10. But the photo is our breakfast this morning . I used to think the Camino breakfasts in Spain were unhealthy with orange juice, toast and coffee. But Italy takes it to another level. Roger had the donut and I had the croissant. To be fair I didn't realise it had half a jar of Nutella in it until I started it. Then a stop at a vineyard at 11.30 for glass of wine and crudo ham. Lunchtime sandwiches with focaccia and now heading out for a piazza. Dreaming of porridge and a big mug of Earl Grey.
