Well we have met two other people on the Via Francigena so we're not the only ones. They are two American women who have walked from the St Bernard Pass in Switzerland and are on day 20 of their walk. Hats off, but they described the start as hellish and difficult walking. Anyway the upside down??? Photo is of me in the typical countryside so far. Flat, hooray, agricultural and beautiful old farms and convents everywhere. It's a tomato and maize growing area and so many chestnut trees and oaks. We're getting by with my ten words of Italian but I hate not being able to have a conversation or answer people's questions. We're loving the anti pasto and the pasta but have been offered horse meat and frogs legs too as typical dishes. Fidenza where we are tonight is in the province of Palma, so more ham tonight. Love it.
