It's raining... So we go shopping!!!!
The weather turned yesterday. Started off quite warm and muggy but cloudy. We went for a bike ride and luckily got back just before the first downpour. The sky had turned black and the wind was really gusty. Then it poured down for about half an hour. We were planning on going into Nathon to watch the first final - Geelong v Hawthorn at Murphy's. Luckily for us we had a break in the rain just at the right time to get there, but the wind was almost blowing us off the bike!! Just after we arrived there was another downpour. The match was a close one until near the end when Hawthorn got ahead and stayed on front. They played a better match than us. Luckily we have another chance next week, hopefully they will play much better. I think we play North next week, but not certain as yet.
It is now low season here as of September 1, and everything in Nathon seems to close about 5.30 - 6pm. Even a lot of the restaurants. Very quiet! Not in Chaweng though. There it is still busy and business as usual. We went to one of restaurants here that is always popular with the locals, called Jit. Had a lovely meal there, very tasty and cheap. It was one of the few still open at 8.30.
Today was a very stormy day again. We decided to do some shopping in Chaweng and left at lunchtime to hopefully miss the rain which we did. Spent the day at the shopping centres and the rain tumbled down fair much of the time. Bought some New Balance runners for just $60, as well as a few other things. Then went into Chaweng where I got my nails done and then we had massage. Had dinner in the market there. Absolutely delicious food and all for B300. Also they had cocktails for B70 each so had one of these each too. We were expecting them to have hardly any alcohol but they were good! After dinner luckily managed to ride home avoiding the rain again although it was very windy. Got back home just before midnight.
