Snakes alive in the tree above!!!!

Had a couple of very lazy days by the pool and beach the past two days. Weather has been perfect and mostly sunny. So just swimming and lying on the deck chairs much of the time. And today while we were laying under the shade of a tree by the beach, Lauri wondered what the mynah birds were squawking at in the tree. So he started looking for the source of the birds' annoyance ....and found a few green tree snakes living up above our heads! Harmless of course, but would have frightened the bejesus out of me if one had dropped into my lap! He ended up getting some fantastic photos of them!

Last night we had a wonderful dinner next door at Siam Residences. They have the restaurant right on the beach so lovely atmosphere. We were expecting it to be a bit pricey but it wasn't and the food was excellent. We had three Thai dishes, all seafood- prawns, calamari and a mixed seafood and they were all delicious! And heaps of food. Also had two glasses of wine and it all came to B850 which is about $28. Will definitely be going there again and again I think.

Today we went for a kayak just before sunset which was fun. Paddled over to the other side of the bay which was quite a paddle! Took about an hour and a half to return. Later we walked up the beach a couple of km to another resort, Lipa Lodge for dinner. Very ordinary food and service compared to last night. Not impressed at all and very expensive for what you got. At least we got some exercise walking there and back!
