Had our special club breakfast this morning which was great - it certainly worked out in our favor with the room mixup. Then we walked to Chinatown. Much like most Chinatowns I suppose, but first we went through a Buddhist temple - the Temple of the Buddha tooth relic, which was a huge temple with five floors. Slept in this morning- was about 9.45 before either of us woke. So we didn't worry about having any free breakfast. We decided to just walk today and discover a bit of the city. Very hot and steamy morning. We walked along the river on Clarke Quay first. And then up to Raffles Hotel. It was just as I had imagined it, a lovely old colonial building, with huge verandahs to keep you cool, beautifully maintained, and you could just imagine being there around 1900...
