Ian & Claire's Adventure
We woke up early to phone the backpacker market to get the details for who bought delia and track half the money that never made our account.
During our breakfast beautiful parrots were eating berries in the tree next to us.
We set off for the Milaa Milaa waterfall circuit and as we pulled up to the first one we saw a tree kangaroo bound across our path. The other 4 waterfalls were quite nice but it was raining so we didnt swim or anything. All the falls were actually quite impressive and high with natural pools at the bottom, but they were probably only really worth visiting after a lot more rain(ians addition after reading my poor attempt). That and the recent stories about crocs in the pools put us off.
The blazing sun magestically arced through the sky and burnt through the clouds as we sauntered into Innisfail (stop it now)
Innisfail is a pretty little town noted for its bright art deco buildings. We wandered around town for a while, trying to find somewhere to buy a cheap pair of flip-flops (jandals, thongs) our sandles have really begun to stink. It was ,however, sunday so everywhere was closed except a small photo shop we nipped in to get some more film and met a curious old couple running the shop (and should have run the tourist info to) it turned out they had only gone in to tidy up but a sale is a sale.
We werent too bothered to stay at Innisfail so we headed South to Mission Beach. The place is really nice, a small villagey feel with a lovely palm lined beach for as long as the eye can see. Unfortunately its stinger(box jellyfish) season so we can only swim down the beach in the stinger nets. We stayed at the council campsite $13 a night with hot showers and a washing machine....perfect! We cooked food by the van afetr a stroll in to town
