Ian & Claire's Adventure
On the way we went to see the big Pineapple (huge ozzy landmarks all over....very kitch). Also we went to the gingerbread factory, just for fun and to get some ginger things...mmmmm
We went south to the infamous Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin Crikey!) it was really hot so luckily they had sprinklers and mist next to big fans to cool people down. We raced to the Crocoseum to see if Stevo was there and caught the back end of a crocodile show. No stevo. It was a pretty good Zoo, we patted Koalas and Kangaroos, saw Tasmanian Devils, Wombats and crocodiles everywhere. We watched a demo with a 5 metre salty who weighed a ton come and grab food from a ranger. Its really well set up, it started as a crocodile sanctuary. We took some silly photos and browsed the tat shops and set off for Springbrook National Park.
After many hours of driving and getting lost we finally got there in the dark. There were no proper campsites so we just pitched up in the national park picnic area and went straight to bed in a bad mood as we couldn't see anything. We did see a two metre long carpet python crossing the road on the way.
