Travelling across the NT toward WA has many free night spots for 24hr overnight camping. They get quite full and sometimes they are nearly full by 1pm!! It used to be about 4pm that all the caravaners look for a pull in area. We stayed at Mary Pool which wasnt as crowded as it sometimes gets. In the morning Allen opened the curtain as it sounded quite windy outside, and there was a red dust storm!! What a mess! Everything was covered in red dust. We then sort of cleaned up and took off to the highway heading west again.
After a day on the road we stopped at another free camp which was also very popular. We found a night area and set up camp, met the neighbours and then inside for dinner and (no tv) a DVD, then bed.
Sandi looks like a red dog now.....bath time coming up Sandi. You certainly couldnt live this lifestyle if you dont like dirt! Luckily it isnt a problem for us.
Short drive from this camp to Broome where we will set up for a few days.
BROOME
We checked our iphone app called Wikicamps for a place to stay - there are no caravan parks that will allow dogs in the peak season in Broome. Luckily there is an area called PCYC overflow that operates in the peak season. The sign out the front says, YOU CAN ONLY COME IN IF YOU HAVE A PET - A DOG OR A CAT. Love it. It is grassed and has water power and amenities. All good. We will stay here 4 days as we have the remaining days to get to Carnarvon mapped out.
Allen checked out the bowls club for a game but had to put his name down on the reserve list.....so no game, one day to go Al!
Washed the car and the dog, the van isnt too bad. Whadyouknow...Sandi isnt a red dog, she is ORANGE!!
