Travelling across the NT toward WA has many free night spots for 24hr overnight camping. They get quite full and sometimes they are nearly full by 1pm!! We drove 580 kms from Broome to our overnight stay at Mary Pool which in peak season is really full. It was nearly empty with only 8 campers there this time. The water wasnt there either.....dry old river this year. The cattle hover around the camp ground and are not bothered by humans coming close to take photos lol. We stayed here one night and then headed for another long day on the road.
