Arrived at Barn Hill after leaving the main road on a 10km red, dusty dirt road - slightly corrigated in places.
Barn Hil is situated on Thangoo Station which is a working cattle station. The property is approximately 430,000 acres and stretches 85km along the coast between Broome and Port Hedland.
The property runs 8000 Brahman Cattle which are marketed to the live export trade through the Port of Broome.
This place has suprised us both as it is an oasis of nice shady trees with very good camp site areas for vans and the like. We believe that we had the pick of the lots available - very happy.
Booked in for five nights and have just been relaxing after the first and second day of washing clothes etc and then cleaning car and van.
Sandy is no better so the restriction on food continues for another day or so.
On one of her walks I (Allen) came across a meter long "King Brown Snake" crossing the track - thank goodness it was blind and never saw us...
I'm now on the lookout for the reptiles.
Managed to see the Dockers go down to Hawthorn today (15 points).. Unfortunate as those around were rooting for them over a few beers.
Last night we were invited to the common garden area at 5pm and played a game called Left,Righ,Centre for a dollar each - we had some fun for an hour and only lost $2.
This place is approx 160km from Broome and a good time has been had relaxing..

Gordon Parsons Stayed there in 1969 for 2 weeks. Carted gear up for silos next door. Carted explosives to Great Sandy Desert behind Sand Fire Flats for oil experations . Carted cattle back. The Grays were the owners then. They just had there first Brahman then. Had a pet one that would walk around the bower shed where we eat & reach over you shoulder & steal you bread out of you hand
