After spending a few days in Broome, just chillin out and enjoying the lovely weather, we headed back out bush to a couple of free camp spots before arriving in Karratha.
We stopped at Sandfire Roadhouse for fuel where the red dust is fine and very very red, (see photos), and a couple of peacocks were roaming around with all the traffic of trucks and caravans pulling up to re fuel. There was a queue for Diesel which may have been because the other outback fuel station (a couple of hundred kilometres away) had no diesel until the following day!! We had a couple of jerry cans in the back which we had filled at Broome so used them as diesel was 197.5 a litre. That isnt the dearest though, we have had some at 212.9 a litre.
The night camp was at Stanley rest area which was a large area withtoilets that werent too bad.
The following night was at De Grey River rest area, an old favorite. It was however, very very dusty with the fine red bull dust and Sandi was a red dog again! We had to wash her before she could come in for the night.
The following day we drove into Karratha to a caravan park to stay for three days. The park was good, but at $44.10 per night for pensioner rates, a wee bit expensive. We cleaned up, the van, the dog and the washing. All looking good. Allen tried to get game of bowls but no one was answering his messages. He will have to wait until we get to Carnaron for his bowls carnivals there.
