Day 7 - 13 Nov 14 - Chester & Wales
Breakfast was at 7am at Innkeepers Lodge. After that, we took some pictures of the place and also with one another before checking out.
So, here come Chester; we drove to the city centre. We limited ourselves to spend only at most two hours plus here as we had a long drive (about 4 hours plus) towards Wales after leaving Chester. Northgate bridge was one of the many attractions that we visited. It was a long walk on its ramparts but due to time constraint, we didn't complete the entire stretch. Nonetheless, we stood on top of the bridge and took pictures for one another, hoping to capture that tiny bit of Chester from the background, but also definitely, to keep them for memory sake as well.
Tudor architectures are everywhere in Chester. We also roamed around the streets, occasionally peering through the windows from shops to shops and wishing that we had the luxury of time to do some shopping. Lots of tea rooms, cafes and patisseries can be found in this city. However, we only had enough time to quickly get some diapers for our kids (We deliberately didn't pack them sufficiently as our luggages were fully optimised in their capacity).
We left Chester at 11am. It took us about 5 hours to get to our next destination - Wales (Fishguard). Unlike yesterday where we took time out to sit down and have a proper meal, today, we merely packed our food at Subway, had a quick bite in the car, and off we continued our journey.
It was 4pm when we reached Wales (Fishguard). We were all tired from the long ride. After we checked in at Salutation Inn, we helped the kids with the changing of diapers, unpacked the stuff from the luggages and Emma also washed some of our clothes. Then, we had dinner at 630pm. The food was alright but what I remembered most fondly was the champagne sorbet that I had for dessert. What a great way to end the day.
