this morning I awoke up with no real plan on how to get to an airport in a town three hours away .but I turn up at the bus station and with little if any conversation get pushed on to a bus by a shouting aggressive Chinese lady ,so I do as she says we agree a price and I get on. About 2 hours later the bus stops on a main road in the middle of a city of 10 million and everyone gets off , so i do as well,faced with the fact that I don't no we're I am I have no map and no idea what direction to go in , I do what I always do put on my iPod choose a direction and start walking.after half an hour I stubble on the same backpackers I stayed the week before so I go in the girl greets me with a smile and after a brief conversation writes down the name of the bus stop to get a bus to the airport.i hail a cab agree a price ( got good at Chinese numbers) and he drops me of on the cross roads points and says something in Chinese so I get out and start walking stopping on the next corner I'm faced by yet another loud Chinese woman who says airport then escorts me to another bus and an hour later I'm sat waiting for my plane and when I arrive I'm ushered on to another bus and dropped in another massive new city at night so I stop a guy on a scooter show him the address of a hostel I have in Chinese and agree a price and I'm on the back of his scooter speeding through the city mounting pavements when we get to a red light beeping the horn to warn pedestrians to get out of the way and 20 min of chaotic driving I arrive at the hostel.Don't really no why people say china is hard to travel ,ok maybe it's because of the language barrier however after travelling on four continents in about 30 something countries you realise you don't need to know the language to get things done don't get me wrong it helps and you learn a lot more about the people and there culture and you should always no how to say hello ,thank you ,please,I want and how are you but that's about it ,to travel you just need a relaxed attitude and the understanding you will end up were your suppose to be ( ok it may not be we're you originally set out for but it will be somewhere of interest .travel is not the destination but the journey ,so just chill and enjoy it .and leave humanity to look after you it has your best interests at heart.
