If japan was relaxed china is its slightly manic and noisy neighbour wandering the busy heavily polluted streets with smells of Peking duck which is delicious to smelling like 100 hundred people all just took a s*** on the street.spent the last two mornings waking up with a hangover staying in a typical Asian backpackers good tunes beers a chatty people from all corners of the globe .did some tourist things tianamen square( we don't talk about tank man, a lot of soldiers and plain clothes police) didn't even see the pickled body of chairman mau closed when I went.internet is strange Facebook is banned obviously and even writing this worries me as they block anything slightly dubious no joke Internet just stops working). Food is very strange the menus are weird from large vats of boiling duck intestines and pork fat to donkey , intestines of every animal, blow frog blood soup duck tongues and hooves not sure what animal that's from.not been to adventurous yet not even sure what I'm eating sometimes .food is family service so all the portions are massive( got to order less as I find myself doing that thing as a kid pushing the food to one side so it looks like I have eaten more).fags are 50 p a packet beer is £1 and that's in the most expensive city.going to swim in the cube I think tomorrow ( pretty cool to swim in the Olympic pool and need to as its 36 degrees ) .a mad drunk chinese dude kept buying me drinks then when we were smashed lay down in front of a police car refusing to move drew quite a crowd, very funny , the cops just gave up got out and went for dinner after more abuse even my drunk friend high fived me then went next door for a foot massage.eating spicy lamb fat and neck while I type pretty tasty.wanted to sleep on the great wall but you need a big group( sounds like a lot of work) so just gonna do a four hour hike on the old part saw a Kung fu acrobatic show very touristy and a bit like a Chinese pantomime I guess ,locals loved it .gonna have a quiet night I think and try and organise some train tickets got to start heading deeper into china time is ticking and it's a big country.oh and you get stopped by countless Chinese people who want to take your photo with them apparently it's good luck to have a photo with a westerner up in your home.weird.none of the adults speak any English but 10 year old kids are fluent so you spend the day relying on little kids for help and they are very helpful.
