Slight amendment needed. Following the completion of my blog last night, I stayed for a couple of drinks in the hotel bar. This led to me heading into town with two girls who had been working in the restaurant. It was quite fun to experience the nightlife that Queenstown had to offer.
Upon my return to the hotel I was feeling slightly worse for wear but we still had a full day ahead of us. Somehow we are still getting the luck with the weather. We took the opportunity to take a gondola ride to Bobs Peak. This gave us amazing views over Queenstown and the lake. We grabbed a buffet lunch in the Skyline, I ate as many prawns as I could to go with my numerous cups of coffee. Lunch was followed by an hour & a half cruise around the lake, where we learnt that half of Queenstowns population is tourists.
A couple of pints before dinner allowed us to see the Friday night crowd of the city. We then grabbed a fantastic meal in a seafood restaurant. Alan had steak, not sure he fully got the point. He figured out during the meal, that I had been deliberately keeping him away from Italians. This seems to be the only type of restaurant we go to at home. As I'm writing this, we are watching a game of rugby in the hotel bar. I do not anticipate a repeat town mission for me however.
