Greg and Kerrie's travels
We have returned to Neil and Isobel's house in East Kilbride to escape the heat in Europe and to rest up. We have found the last month very busy and extremely hot. We plan to do as little as possible - not sure how this will go as we have never done this before on our trips.
As we have the use of a car while we are here, the bike was parked in the back yard, washed and covered up for the duration. We selected DVD's from Neil's collection to watch and Kerrie chose some books from the bookshelf to keep her occupied. Part of Kerrie's plan was to sleep in every morning without Greg telling her to get up saying - "you can't sleep your life away!"
Our plans have worked out beautifully. Kerrie stays up late reading - so far she has read selections of Colleen McCullough, James Patterson and Jodi Picoult - a total of 6 books in a week. Because she stays up late, she sleeps until 10 in the morning - bliss! Greg spends his time during the day watching DVD's - catching up on his war movies and some old time favourites. He has his afternoon nap before a wine and home cooked dinner. We usually have a small outing each day - for a coffee or to grab something for dinner. One day, we even drove 40km to the seaside town of Largs for an ice-cream - why - because we had been told it was great ice-cream. Greg says the Italian gelatis are better! Kerrie has also managed a manicure and pedicure - what decadence. We have been able to use the washing machine instead of having to wash undies in our hotel room sink and we have even been able to hang the clothes on the clothes line, when its not raining. We really haven't minded the occasional drizzle as we are not on the bike and have a lovely comfortable home for our time here - thanks Neil and Isobel.
This idyllic existence was interrupted on Friday morning when Kerrie came down stairs to find Greg planning an adventure. I guess we are not destined to do nothing for very long!

Team Elephant So, you finally found the Italian Scots. It is one of the great wonders of the north! We are still in London, exhausted, but enjoying some wonderful grandchildren time. Love as always, Mike and Jo
Craig and Marg Looks like the couch is getting a harder workout than the bike. Both of us would be telling a large porky pie if we said we are happy to be back at work. Slightly envious of you guys but we are now very motivated to start planning our next trip.
