Greg and Kerrie's travels
For two weeks from 30.05.2011 - We reached Douglas at about 8 pm and rode our bikes off the ferry together with the 50 or so other bikes on board as well as cars, trucks and buses and those poor suckers on foot. We were met by Dave MILLIGAN the Get Routed boss and several of his helpers. Andrew, who also shipped into Izmir and is one of Dave's right hand men, escorted five of us to our digs being Chris (who we call 'Imzir Chris' after he had dislocated his shoulder in Izmir, returned to Australia to heal and was now back), David and Hilda from Orange, NSW and our small band of three.
We dropped off Izmir Chris and then Andrew took us to Ballagreyney, our home for the next two weeks. Ballagreyney is an 8 acre farm with a main farmhouse as the family home and two stone cottages, being Rose and Honeysuckle Cottages, the latter ours.
Our cottage has two stories, two bedrooms each with ensuite, central heating, cable TV, full kitchen etc, etc etc. Five star rating with the Gold Award to prove it. Lucky us.
The property is owned by Phillip and Kirrie who seem to be filthy rich as evidenced by the Porsche Boxter, Mercedes Benz 4wd and Nissan Navarra dual cab ute parked in the driveway; the latter to tow the high powered speed boat parked adjacent to the grass tennis court in front of the family two storied stone homestead.
We were greeted by Phillip, a typical upper class Pom with the accent to match. He seemed like a nice guy. As it was late when we arrived we thought we would have go go to bed with no dinner. To our surprise Phillip had left each cottage supplied with tea, coffee, sugar, milk, fresh bread, eggas & butter. So, after unpacking Kerrie made us a magnificent feast of scrambled eggs on toast washed down with piping hot tea and coffee. Yum yum. It was then off to bed.
