Today we left Invercargill and flew to Christchurch to meet Jamie. Flight was just over an hour and met Jamie at the airport! Was good to see him and see that he had arrived safe and well. We then went to pick up the campervan - which i had been dreading! but it is actually awesome, a lot bigger than i thought it would be! Its big enough for all four of us, and got everything that we would need. The toilet and shower is teeny but we prob would really use the shower anyway. The women went through all the stuff about it then we went to the supermarket for some supplies. Decided to head to Kaikoura, which is a lovely wee beach place thats famous for seeing whales. Graeme drove and did very well! We soon learned that all campervans wave to each other so that was fun! Got to Kaikoura and there was no more boat trips left to see the whales. We had went last time so I wasnt too bothered but the boys were quite keen so they decided to get a helicopter tour and Graeme went too. I sat in campervan and admired the views! The boys returned and loved their trip. They saw quite a few whales and had some great photos. We then made our way to Hamner Springs, where one of the guys Fraser Weir from rugby moved to so we were hoping to catch up with him. We had dinner and drinks with him and was good to exchange stories! He works in a massive farm over there which has 800 cows, 1500 deer and wait for it...9000 sheep! i was like holy man - thats a lot of burgers! that would be like the best barbecue in the world lol! So hanged with him for a bit then he invited us back to the farm to stay in the campervan for the night so we did that! was bloody freezing in the campervan! boys went into the farm for a beer but i headed to bed! its absolutly pouring down as well but see how we get on with our first night in the campervan!
