Rownd y Byd efo Helen a Fiona!!
Hello there!!! Sorry it's been a while!! But we have been very busy with all these rugby players to follow around! Well, since my last message we have been up to so much, so I'll carry on from where I left it last time!! After the Training Session we headed off to pick our - "2 Berth Camper Van" we could only laugh when we first set eyes on Noah! especially when we tried to get all our belongings in! ( I might not of mentioned earlier but while in Sydney, Helen decided that she had had enough of her Backpack and had invested in a Suitcase... well, the case turns out to be nearly the same size as Noah! If not slightly bigger.....!) So once we had filled Noah, we set off to Rotorua! We made it to Rotorua in one piece, and I have to say that this Automatic lark is very confusing, I keep on trying to change gears....
So we were set up in the campsite, and set off to wander around the town, Well, all I can say is, that Ive never been to such a smelly town! Because of all the Geysers' in the area, which let off steam and a lot of smell due to the Sulpher in the ground! Nice!!! You might of seen the photos of large bubble like things rolling down the hill, that was us Zorbing!! It was so much fun!! We went to the top of the hill where the Zorbs were filled with warm water, then we dived in, (yes, both of us in the same one) Then we were zipped in, and off we went!!!! Crazy, we were told to try and stand, but we were all over the place!!! Think we should think about doing it at home!!!! Then came saturday - Match Day!! The first Lions game v Bay Of Plenty! The party started early in the afternoon, in the Barmy Army base!! We met so many fun people and had such a laugh! we were lucky enough to have tickets to the game, which was great! After the game the party continued into the early hours of Sunday Morning.....!
Our next port of call was to Whakatane (bear in mind that 'Wh' is pronounced 'F')! There we went on a boat trip to the only Active Marine Volcano, that was such a great day! White Island is 49 Km out to sea, so we had a very early start, but it was worth it. Such an amazing feeling standing on an active volcano watching the steam rise out of the crater! Luckily there weren't any rumbles that day, but we were well prepared in our very attracitve hard hats and gas masks! We moved on from Whakatane and drove all around the East Cape, where we came across some crazy roads, we went up and down, and round so many bends. At one point it felt like we were going round in circles, but the breathtaking views were worth it!
We Are now quite settled in Noah, and we keep on finding more space for our stuff, You never know by the end of the 2 months we might even find a space for 'The Case'! We have even started Knitting to keep us occupied in the evenings!!
After our scenic drive we made our way to Gisborne, this is the place to be if you want to be the first person in the world to see the sunrise!! From Gisborne we made our way to Taupo! Taupo is the place to be if your into your Extreme Sports.... we considered doing a skydive for all of 5 minutes..... insted we decided on a jet boat up the river - "HukaJet' that was plenty for us! It was so much fun, we were going so fast and doing crazy things like 360' spins and just crazy things.....phew!! so much fun!! the next day we opted for a calmer boat trip! We went on The Barbary, a sailing boat on Lake Taupo to see the famous Moari Rock Carvings. Bill our skipper was so much fun, we even had the opportunity to help sail the boat!!
From Taupo we moved on to Napier, where we had our first day of rain since leaving Auckland! So have been taking it easy over the weekend!! Knitting 'n stuff!!! ;) Not sure where were headed next, we'll have to study the map tonight!! But we are aiming to be in Wellington for July 2nd to watch the 2nd test match! We havent got tickets, but the atmosphere will be great, so Im sure there'll be plenty of stories!...
Id better be off! Keep you posted!
