Aargh. I typed a long blog and it came up twice so I deleted one and now they are both gone!
There was so much loud thumping noise from a restaurant about 100 metres from campsite until 1am. My friendly Dutch neighbours have decided to leave also.
On the way to Siena I saw a car park full of campervans next to a spa. If only I had known before. These Aire type places are beginning to start up in Italy
As it was Sunday I decided to avoid the pools but I arranged to have a massage for my shoulder. The masseuse turned out to be a nice young girl who didn't know very much so it wasn't much help. She advised me to see a doctor.
Drove on to Siena on a good road for a change.
Parked illegally under a bridge to give Sach shade. Walked up through alleys into this enchanting medieval town. All the flags were out in preparation for Il Palio the famous horse race between the districts which is due to take place in a couple of days.
The spectacular Duomo was built around 1200 and that is the picture above.
I went to change some UK pounds and found that I had left my passport at the campsite 70 kms back. I didn't change money as the only wanted to give me 90 euros for £100. It should be at least 120.
So now I needed to rush back to get the passport and went round and round hopelessly lost. In the end I found a policeman who was terribly busy having his photo taken. When I told him I was lost he said that that was not unusual. Eventually found my way and drove back to the campsite that I had packed up and left this morning. So I am staying here again tonight.
