I can't believe that I have been in one place for so long and done so little.
The excuse is that my shoulder was very painful and I tried to rest it but it made no difference. Eventually I asked at reception to see a doctor but he said go straight to the hospital which I did.
They were very efficient although the doctor didn't speak English. He decided to give me a cortisone injection and told me to rest the shoulder. This is difficult as even dressing is painful. Anyway after 3 days it is slightly better and not so painful at night. It cost me €82 as it was not an emergency. If I had fallen over it would have been free. I know what to say next time!
Before I became really lazy I did take a cable car up to over 3000metres. The photo is taken at one of the three stages.
Also I was befriended by Grazie and his wife Paula who took me out to Misurino lake which was beautiful but very touristy. On the way back he drove a different way by another lake. Actually wherever you go the mountain scenery is magnificent.
Every day I take Sacha across the road for her to have a paddle in a mountain stream. She has had a rough time. I had bought a batch of Cesar dog food which she has had before. The first time I gave her some she vomited. I left it for a few days and she was fine. Then I gave her some Cesar food and she was sick again in the night. A real mess and difficult to clear up with my shoulder. I have donated the other 8 cartons to the local vets and left a note saying why as it was closed.
After resting the shoulder for 3 days and Grazie telling me that I am lazy I got off my backside and drove for 100 miles round trip.
The scenery is superb round each bend and there are many - mostly hairpins. Went over several over 2000 metre passes and sometimes there was snow below me. Unfortunately it started to rain in the afternoon but there were still great vistas. Although my shoulder started to hurt again I didn't want the journey to end.
This evening it is dull and raining. Other times we have had storms at night but the daytimes have been mostly sunny with occasional cloud.
