Back into Katherine for fuel and food then onto Edith Falls. Again we are wondering if this country can possibly get any more beautiful???! Apparently it can, but today it wouldn't seem that way. After spending quite a bit of money on the cruise and accommodation to see Katherine Gorge we have been blessed to be able to spend two days at the most glorious place yet, Edith Falls, and for next to nothing. We were able to share a large site with the Hunters (a fantastic family we have met and travelled with along the way) with a shady, grassy space for us all to sit about and the kids to play, very spoilt. It is a short, steep walk, although challenging in the heat, up to the Upper Pools, a spectacular spot with large deep swimming holes and a waterfall. The boys, including the biggest boy, swam, explored, climbed and jumped from heights! Everyone, except me, were able to swim up under the falls, I chickened out! It was a glorious spot to spend our days. Onto Kakadu today, very exciting!
