Well, we have enjoyed two days of Mataranka magic! This place is divine! Where we have been swimming is a natural thermal spring which opens up into a large deep waterhole. It then gets narrow and becomes more like a creek but still deeper than my height. The water is body temperature so you never get cold or hot so you can swim for hours! There is a gentle current which allows you to float ever so gently down the creek for about 100 metres. It is crystal clear so you can see the bottom with your own eyes, or with masks or goggles it is an amazing place to explore, an underwater paradise with fish and turtles and magical plants! As you may have seen from the photos Lachie has amazed us once again by learning to snorkel! He was determined to do it and had it down pat in a matter of minutes! What fun he had! We literally had to drag him out! It has been quite tiring but we are so sad to be leaving this place, a little slice of heaven. Hopefully we will be back one day. On to Katherine tomorrow for more amazing scenery and adventures!
PS: Ben spent the arvo fishing and was completely chuffed to have caught his first Barra! It was delicious too!
