Day 58: With the mail delivered and the banking done, we hit the road with a big drive ahead of us.
We are heading for Borroloola, which is about 50+kms off the coast of the Gulf of Carpentaria.
We have lunch at the Highway Inn, under the smallest tree, with the littlest bit of shade, on the driest, dustiest stretch of road, the Carpentaria Hwy.
It's a long drive, on a single lane 'road', passing cars, other caravaners, and of course, the notorious road trains.
We reach Cape Crawford at about 4pm, and with Borroloola about 100+kms more, we decide to stay at the Heartbreak Hotel's caravan park.
It's a lovely little CP, plenty of shade and grass (which is not always the case up here). We set up, and enjoy a quiet ale overlooking the bush and enjoying the live entertainment from the hotel.
The boys burn off some pent up energy, playing footy and having a swim.
Cape Crawford is awesome...
