I must admit I was pretty excited about coming to Goa. Although all the travelling had been great and I was loving every minute of it I felt it was definitely time for a rest. I was also looking forward to actually being able to unpack! And stay unpacked for more than a 2 days! We were picked up at the train station and driven to our villas, Tarika's Gold Coast Villas. They were lovely villas of varying shapes and sizes and all different bright colours. There was a pool right in the middle of them all and the beach was only a 10 minute walk away! We were in paradise. We were staying in a small place in the very south of Goa so luckilly it was not too touristy. In fact it was pretty remote but we definitely welcomed the peace and quiet and made the most of the beautiful beach.
For the first few nights we were put in a pretty yellow villa with a couple of South African boys, Tiny and Ticks. We immediately decided that we would need some mode of transport to get us around. Most people hire scooters for the time they are in goa. Unfortunately I have balancing issues and my first lesson on the scooter didn't go to well. Seriously, those things are hard to keep upright! We instead opted for bicycles. A much more sensible solution I think.
We spent our days in Goa mainly on the beach. It was beautiful. The sands were golden, sky was blue, there were waves crashing in and we were surrounded by palm trees. We were in heaven for a week. Our only decisions were when and what to eat for lunch and where we would go for dinner. Cycling around Goa was great fun, sweaty at times but fun. We even manged a night out to a club with our new friends. It was actually the smallest club I've ever seen in my life. Literally, upstairs I could easilly touch the ceiling. It was a really good night. I'd forgotten how much I love dancing. Me and Lauren also discovered Apple Smirnoff and Sprite that night! Yum
