We were pretty happy to have reached the Cancun coast and to have been on our last overnight bus journey in Mexico. We went to Tulum first, a quiet place on the coast. It was nice to reach the humidity of Palenque. It was very small but from it we were able to visit some nice places. Our first day we had booked a trip out to some waterfalls. We spent 2 days in Sans Cristobal. It was a town right up in the mountains so it was a bit cooler. In the town there were some really nice wee shops selling nice gifts and lots of jewellery. We had 2 days in Oaxaca. It was definitely worth seeing as it was very pretty, lots of lovely little cobbled streets with different coloured buildings. It was a nice little city in amidst forested mountains. We had hoped to do a cooking class there but they did not do the class on the day we were there. We took an overnight bus from Peurto Vallarta to Mexico City, and what a long journey it was. The bus was very nice and comfortable too, but we still had trouble sleeping and were desperate to get off the bus. We arrived in Mexico City early in the morning and took a taxi to our hostel hoping for a couple of hours sleep. However when we arrived at our hostel they told us we couldnt check in till 2pm.
