Tomorrow is our Travel Day.  We're set to leave on a WestJet flight out of Vancouver with a 09:40 a.m. departure - so it's an early start - we'll be leaving the house about 5:30 a.m. to make YVR on time.  Our plan is to fly directly to Cancun (5.5 hour flight) and spend a few days there for some R&R.  We'll be hooking up with our friends in Cancun with Terry & Angie from Toronto.  They're scheduled to arrive a few hours ahead of us on Monday, but certainly they will reserve a stool at some local eatery for our first get-together dinner.  We've rented a two-bedroom casa near the Colonial center of Merida for the month of March  This will be quite a different Mexican location for us from our usual haunt in Ajijic.  Merida, the "white-city" is a much much larger city on the Yucatan with hopefully many more things to do including the heritage site - Chichen Itza which we'll do on a day trip at some point down the road. Because of a 24-hour travel trip to Merida via most airlines, we opted to go into Cancun direct and then take the local bus service into Merida which is about a 3.5 hour trip.  We're hoping that we don't get the "chicken" bus as apparently there's a "Platino Service" that offers reclining seats and T.V.  so we'll see how this goes.  It will at least give us an opportunity to see some of the countryside along the way which will be a good thing.  Stay tuned for updates from Merida along with what I hope to be some good photography.
