Well folks, we are into our last 24 hour in Australia and it is really strange. The last two weeks have been great and we have treated it like a holiday (yes, I know it seems like we have been on holiday for a year, but it is hard work travelling round, seeing new places, new faces and socialising on a regular basis!). We have been sleeping on James and Ange's floor in Manly for the last two weeks, which has been fine, but I think our mattress has seen better days. Fuz has been trying to squeeze in as much surf as poss and i have tried to top up the tan and eat/drink myself into a new dress size which I have managed to do but not in a good way (the size has gone up instead of down!). We managed to sell the van to a young French surfer dude, who was delighted with it and was raring to get on the road to get away from the hostel he was staying in (same one that we stayed in whe we first arrived at Manly - yuk!). We got 2,500 for it, plus the 1,800 settlement for the accident so we were quite delighted with that result. James fixed the back door for us so all good on the van front. I spent a couple of days with Ange at the car market while she was selling their pajero and was thankful that we didn't have to take ours there. Had a bit of an action packed few weeks, which found me trying body boarding (and loving it!!) and doing a sky-dive along with with Fuz, James and Ange. The dive was amazing and luckily i got an instructor who had all of his faculties...unlike Fuzzy's one! He felt totally ripped off due to the man being old, with bandaged leg, short term memory loss and 'can't be arsed' attitude. The dive was nowhere near as scary as the bungy, and i was a bit diappointed that the freefall and height were less than they should have been. Freefall should have been 60 seconds (more like 25) and height should have been 14,000ft (more like 9,000), but great experience all the same and I can definitely see me doing it again. Fuz went to watch rugby league and met up with his old boss a couple of times for a few beers (or more than a few beers as the case was the first night he met him..!). James and Ange headed off on Thurs (after chucking out abut 500 bags of clothes and rubbish!) and we headed back into the city (with our life in our rucksacks) for our last two nights. It actually felt really good to be getting onto the road again, but nonetheless we will miss Manly (heaps!). We decided to book into the same hostel as we started off in last year in the name of nostalgia and I think I had forgotten how bad Kings Cross is. However, the hostel is good and it's close to our favourite pizza place in the whole world, which we are going to for our last Aussie supper. Our last day will be spent packing and repacking the rucksacks due to them being full. Having already thrown out bags of clothes and even sending some home, I am stumped to what else I can dump in order to make it smaller/lighter (because I obviously need lots of space to put all of the things I buy in SE Asia!). So, as of 5pm tomorrow it will be cheerio Oz...hello Thailand! We will keep you posted on our SE Asia adventure and look forwrd to hearing from folk. XXXXX
