A day of two halves. This morning it was overcast but very warm.
We started the day at 7.00am straight from bed into the pool followed by a good breakfast outside. Later we were taken to the Glasshouse Mountains which are actually lava plugs but they stand very tall and quite isolated in an otherwise flat plain. We viewed them from two different areas and you could see that they were in a circle. There were several of these large outcrops and they all had aboriginal names and there was a story associated with them.
After lunch back at base we revisited the beach we had seen before Tasmania and found that due to a cyclone which was moving down the coast the wind was very strong 45 mph and consequently the surf was up. Wonderful waves but the beach was closed apart from a section which was round a corner and more sheltered where the Kite Surfers were out. About 20 of them flying around and coming a good 10ft out of the water. It’ was fantastic to see.
Back at base again the ‘boys’ went for a drink across the road with neighbours whilst Sue and I went in the pool with a beer in floating drink holders - hilarious
