I think today is the first time we have stopped since leaving the UK. We actually managed to get to church as it was the first time we were not travelling on a Sunday. The church was very modern with double windows open along both sides, as the service progressed the wind got very strong and just at the end of the sermon they all blew shut like a load of dominoes going. Today we went north of the beach we were on yesterday and did another beach walk. In fact we completed the Bay and walked to where we had started yesterday. The tide was in and again the waves spectacular. The TV news was in the area recording for the news which we saw on our return. Well there is a cyclone off the coast and the winds it’s blowing in are incredibly strong and consequently the waves are huge. After an unusually lazy morning for us we head north to a town on the coast called Mooloolaba. As soon as we got out of the car you could hear the roar of the waves. A day of two halves. This morning it was overcast but very warm. We started the day at 7.00am straight from bed into the pool followed by a good breakfast outside. Later we were taken to the Glasshouse Mountains which are actually lava plugs but they stand very tall and quite isolated in an otherwise flat plain.We viewed them from two different areas and you could see that they were in a circle. So that’s it - 2 weeks and 2000km done and lots of great memories of Tassie. Lots of trees both Eucalyptus and Pine, large herds of cattle and sheep that looked mucky. (Must be the breed but they looked as if they needed a good scrub) Beaches with sand fit for an egg timer, blue/turquoise waters and lots of very twisty roads in the West.
