September 11
Took a nice long walk along the lakefront on this sunny day. The plan for today was to return to Interlochen to attend a George Gershwin concert performed by the Traverse City Symphony orchestra.
The concert began at 3 PM, but we went early so I could have a look at the place where I spent two summers in 57 and 58, the Intermediate Boys Division. I dropped Rita off at the theater, then drove to visit this location. It had changed almost not at all from what I remember from last seeing it 58 years ago. Can anyone tell which one of these 14 year-olds is me?
From here, I drove back to Corson Auditorium and very much enjoyed this magnificent concert featuring pianist Ralph Votapek. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we will be returning next week for another Gershwin concert.

A clear and sunny day, which was great news because we went to play golf, again at Elmbrook Golf Course. I had a shaky start, but played reasonably well overall.
After a quiet afternoon at home, we ate dinner here then went out to see an excellent movie called “Sully” about that remarkable airline pilot who landed a disabled plane in the Hudson River in January of 2009 saving all 155 passengers and crew. Had no idea of the grief to which he and his co-pilot were subjected by a bunch of idiot bureaucrats.

Ili Nagy Sounds like you two are having a wonderful time! We are looking forward to the next time we are at CFT. I could not identify you. Will ask Eric. Ciao, Ili
Georgi Glad you saw Sully. We really liked it. Hell or high water was excellent too. As you might remember my niece studied piano at interlocked school. She is now at the Mannes school of music in nyc. Wins lots of competitions
David Preskill 3rd from the left, front row!
Sarah Barnes David, I could not spot the 12 year old you!! How wonderful to be able to visit the past without having to be 12 again.
Tom McFarland You must be the big guy wearing shades, top row left. No?
