September 4
Drove one hour today up to Charlevoix to visit with Rita’s sister, Cheri, and husband, Danny. They’re in the midst of trying to sell their home there with long term plans to live primarily in Ojai, CA where they have a condo. After watching a tense and close Tigers v Royals ball game (won by Tigers 6-5), friends of theirs, Richard and Laurie, came over to join us for dinner. Had great conversation with extraordinary efforts to avoid politics for excellent reasons; I’m sure many folks risk friendships over this business.

I started the day with a 3.5 mile run along Lake Michigan. Lovely day! Around 58 degrees.
At the same time, Rita took a walk by the lake and shot a nice picture of the lighthouse.
We met at a coffee shop.
Enjoyed a breakfast with Cheri and Danny, then headed back to Traverse City. Changed into bathing suits and went to a nearby beach. Water temperature around 70 degrees, unusually warm.

We started the day by walking over to the nearby senior center located next to a few tennis courts. They were busy with a lot of old timers playing something called “pickle ball”, kind of a light weight version of tennis. As it was quite busy, we drove to another tennis court area and enjoyed a little while of rallying. Rita had arranged to play some bridge today, which I wasn’t really interested in doing. So, I dropped her off at the location, then drove to the fitness center where we joined earlier today. I spent about 45 minutes working out. From there I went home for a while, then picked up Rita.We drove out to a shopping mall and bought pickle ball equipment. From here we went to dinner at a place called Mode’s Bum Steer. Had a very nice roast prime rib.

Terry Polevoy I wish I had your energy. Let us know where you will be staying when you get to Detroit area.
Georgi Pickle ball is gaining in popularity here too. We saw Sully. Wide release tomorrow I think. Excellent.
Sarah Barnes Pickle ball is the rage at our local Y, where there are several teams.
