So it was off to Golden which is better known for its ski hill Kicking Horse. The town itself when we passed through it to get to Revelstoke, looked like a bit of a hell hole. The Trans-Canadian Highway goes through the town and loads of fast food and motels have sprung up. The town however is off to the south and it is actually not too bad. It has a great view of the mountain and the town is really laid back, old fashioned Canada/America, kind of like what you would think the small towns should look like.
The ski hill kicked my arse, it has 3 bowls one which you have to jump a metre or so to get on to the black run – seriously harsh… one of the bowls was called the even called the Terminator Bowl… Ha that’s putting it lightly.
Anyhow there are some good runs, with great views of the valley. I even got a couple of cms snow whilst on the hill. Scored my first rail and medium park jump about 5 ft...
Was definitely the most challenging mountain, Megan decided to abstain from this one and chill at home – probably the best idea since I wiped out 3 times!!!!
Anyhow we heard that the last best mountain in the area was Fernie – so we are heading there next for our last jaunt before we get to Vancouver.
