So we cruised up from Juneau to our next destination which was a little mining town called
Skagway. Skagway was a town born from a gold rush in the Klondike mountains. We were also privy to some great stories aboutthe old brothels and con artists that used to fill the town.
We even got to visit the old Brothel - the red onion - where the employees still dress in
the attire of the day. Quite funny! We also got to watch the film Whitefang - which was set
in the town around the time of the gold rush. This town was also home to the White Pass
Railroad - which takes you from the American/Canada border at the summit of the klondike mountains. This was by far the highlight! Such beauty when the old steamer takes you down a huge valley which the miners used to hike up in the snow... Sensational pictures will be posting soonish.
It was a definate highlight of the whole trip.
We are updating when we can - so this blog will be followed directly by a few others - so check them out :-)
