Wed 6th

We hit the ground running so to speak on our arrival in 'God's Own Country'. Landed at about 12.45 pm in Perth, as scheduled, after both watching all 8 of the first series of Broadchurch back-to-back between Dubai and Perth! In my case (A) I did miss bits as I had the odd doze here and there along the way but I got the gist!

Chris and Jenny were there to meet, greet and take us back to their abode which is our home for the next few weeks. Quick relax and bite to eat then off to Morris practice, where we metup with some old faces and lots of new ones. Dave and Chris both had a go at a dance or two - first time for Dave since dancing in Perth, Scotland in 1979!! Not sure re Chris but it's been a long time since both took up their PMM colours, stick, bells and hankies!!! Then off to the pub and a swift half before heading home and finally getting our heads down and stretching out on a very comfy bed.

Thursday 7th

Lazy morning (Hooray!). Headed off in the afternoon to see Aunty Hazel (AH) who is now in a very nice care home in East Fremantle. Eventually found it - long story! - and her - another long story! Dave went out to see West Coast Eagles v Fremantle Dockers at Sibiaco Oval with Chris - a preseason match. Brought back memories for Dave who once hired the Subi Oval for a match when he organised the Subiaco soccer team back in the prehistoric days.

Friday 8th

Started looking at phones, trailers and cars for the road trip. Out to a folk club in the evening and met up with another whole host of dinosaurs!! A great evening - but so far Dave's been out every evening!! No rest for the wicked, as they say.

Sat 9th

The day of the 40th Anniversary of the Perth Morris Men has arrived - the reason we came when we did. So after a pretty well sleepless night for both of us for whatever reason - jetlag or just normal rubbish sleeping pattern - we were up and at 'em and in Hay Street with the rest of the collected morris teams. Then pub after - great stuff and worth coming for - and met up yet with more blasts from the past. Dave took photos but they're still on the camera. The one with this blog was taken by someone else and posted on the internet for public to see so I don't think I'm infringing any rules! Angie is the musician with the flowery hat and pink check blouse. So far none of Dave.
